Q. What is Podiatry?
A. Podiatry focuses on prevention, diagnoses, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to the feet and lower limbs. These range from musculoskeletal pain, bone and joint disorders to muscular pathologies as well as neurological and circulatory diseases. Podiatrists are also able to diagnoses and treat general skin and nail conditions such as thickened skin, corns, plantar warts (verrucae), toe nail disorders, skin lesions and ingrown toe nails.

Q. Do I need to bring anything to the Consultation?
A. Ladies, please have your nail polish removed prior to appointment. If for a bio-mechanical assessment (foot, leg or back pain), please bring in your shoes you wear to work and shoes you wear for activities. Also shorts can be helpful, ladies you can wear leggings if you feel more comfortable with that.
Please bring in any imaging of your foot, if you have it. Xrays, ultrasound, MRI, CT reports or images can be useful.

Q. Do I need a referral?
A. No.

Q. Can I claim Podiatry on Private Health Insurance?
A. Yes, if you are covered. You can call your health fund and check prior to appointment if unsure. We also have hicaps – ‘on the spot health fund rebate’.

Q. Do I need to make an appointment?
A. Yes, you are required to make an appointment to ensure you secure a time. Please call day before appointment to reschedule or at least 3 hours before.

Q. Can I have my shoes checked?
A. Yes, I am a shoe specialist with 14 years experience and can help pick the right shoes for you. It doesn’t matter how much you spend but it does matter how the shoe functionally works for you.

Q. Is a Medi-Cure value for money?

A. Yes, we feel Medi-Cures offer value for money. The treatment provides excellent standards of hygiene, benefit of medical knowledge in disease prevention, and extensive training & practical advice of Podiatrist.
